Hunter Goes To The Dentist
I was on pins and needles yesterday. Hunter my white miniature schnauzer had to have his teeth cleaned. I did not like the thought of my 6 year old pup having to go under so I kept putting it off. After almost a year of procrastination I decided that it was time and promised myself that I would make having his teeth cleaned a priority for the new year. I was so scared but kept telling myself that he would not only have better smelling breath but would be healthier too! So I put on my big girl paints and took him to his appointment early yesterday morning. I packed his blankie hoping that the smells of home would calm his nerves (this was more for me Hunter could care less about a blanket). After filling out the necessary paper work it was time to say see ya (not good by) but of course Hunter wasn’t going back without a fight. After what felt like minutes but was only seconds of screeching and whining the vet tech told me that he would do better if I just left without seeing him walk in the back. ”WHAT!!” I thought I can’t leave with him watching me but knew that the quicker I left the quicker I could pick him up. So I did and waited at home for the call. The vet finally called around 12:45 and told me that Hunter was fine and that I could come and pick him up around 2:00. Finally it was over and I am hoping that I will not have to go through that again but it does lead me into next months newsletter topic…. Don’t Forget to Brush!
