Hi, My name is Megan; I am the owner and founder of Paws and Claws Photography. I have been passionate about both pets and photography for many years, and decided to start my own company in 2005. I have graduated from the New York Institute of Photography and further my education regularly through PPA (Professional Photographers of America) classes. I am currently raising two Miniature Schnauzers, Parker and Hunter.

Clients often ask why I decided to create Paws and Claws Photography. Before I started my company, I tried to take my pets to a studio to have their photos taken. Not only did the photos not meet my expectations, the entire experience was stressful for my pets and me. So I decided to eliminate the inconvenience of transporting pets and the anxiety of introducing them to strange environments by coming to your home. I find that most pets and their people are more relaxed and photogenic in familiar surroundings. Plus, I have found a way to bring studio quality lighting and backdrops to virtually any location, resulting in professional portraits without the hassle.

Paws and Claws Photography serves Northern Virginia and the Greater Washington Metro Area, longer distances are available upon request, although additional travel expenses and time compensation may apply.
